Sooo…. my baby girl started school today. No fear, no tears, no hug. That’s right no hug. Just a “Bye Mom!” and off she went. I of course called her back for a much hastily given one, but hey I’m not complaining. My friend Tara didn’t even get that! So I wish I could sit here and write something beautiful about it but I am much to stressed out right now. Why? Well I have to fly to a wedding in less than 15 hours and am not prepared yet!!! Seems me that I might be on the wrong side of this biz! I have received a couple wedding requests as of late- much to my surprise! As a rule I don’t shoot weddings for a number of reasons. Mostly because I can’t handle the pressure! No mistakes at a wedding! No re-shoots, do overs or the like! Now that being said I have shot a wedding and am doing another next week.
Why you ask? Well it’s not your typical wedding. I get to shoot my style- free. Some call it lifestyle photography. It includes natural light and fun. No big pressure to have the perfect kiss moment! I simply get to make memories for wonderful people to have for 100+years (or at least that’s what my printer tells me). So do I do weddings? I guess if this fits your description of a wedding photographer-
“I would like you to only shoot lifestyle and not traditional. Be a fly on the wall and pretend we can’t see you. Capture all the fun behind the scenes pics and also the important ones.”
If that is what you want, then I’m your girl.
I totally forgot to post about the fair results! Drum roll please…… I took 4 out of 5 ribbons! Now I feel that I have to mention that 3 of those ribbons are Honorable mentions but hey- they ARE ribbons! I placed 2nd for my print of the preggers belly! I didn’t even expect to place at all! I was up against HUGELY talented photographers. What a blessing. I forgot to add one of the pics that I entered for some reason. So below is the last one- my daughter. Which is now hanging in my living room! Edit: for some reason the pic is pretty grainy and not so sharp. I will try and fix it asap.
